A Message From Our Head of School
How time has flown! I can not believe we have reached the holiday season already. Reflecting on the past four months, I feel grateful for my experiences at Woodstock Trinity School. I’ve learnt so much about our teachers, students and their families. I’m astonished by the sense of community, compassion and acts of kindness that I’ve been fortunate to witness first hand. The values and beliefs instilled here at Woodstock Trinity School are like no other school or program I’ve seen. I believe this can be attributed to our strong foundation of caring families and faculty, that have been a part of WTS in some cases for many years. This school shares a special warmth within its walls, and indeed this is something worth preserving and protecting as we move forward into 2019.
My experiences so far have solidified some preconceived notions I’ve carried throughout my career. A school must insist on a culture that commands respect from all of its constituents. Every conversation in an effective school begins and ends with respect, both inherent and earned. The fundamental interactions between teachers, students and families deserve genuine care in the words and actions we share daily.
My time here at WTS so far has been brief, but much has changed in this short time. All of us experience change in life and often equate it with learning and growth. Yet it may cause friction and sometimes conflict, as we fear losing something we have long valued. I have learned that change and its associated friction are sometimes inevitable, even required, to encourage adaptation, stimulate growth and development. The key here is engaging in quality communication with each other, inviting discussion and reflection, while working towards common goals. My hope is all points of view can be shared with a mutual respect for ourselves and the children that attend this school, at the level in which this school has been accustomed. I appreciate and continue to invite these candid, face to face conversations regarding your opinions and wishes as Woodstock Trinity School continues to grow and evolve.
First hand, I now have an irrefutable belief that the teachers are continuing their hard work to create stimulating lessons to spur your children’s curiosity. WTS has provided many new learning tools this year, which teachers are wasting no time utilizing, to provide the very best for our students. Having confidence in your child’s environment and education is key, and it's with laughter and applause, our teachers uphold the traditions and culture of Woodstock Trinity School. They celebrate the accomplishments, and genuinely encourage, full engagement of each and every student. Looking towards the months ahead, it is my wish to continue to provide new and exciting educational opportunities for the students, and aid the teachers with new learning initiatives in whatever way possible.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our families. Our families add undeniable enthusiasm and care through their volunteer actions, baking for tea, coaching, and transportation for school activities. Thank you to the families who add life and culture to Woodstock Trinity School. You are an essential part of creating an active, engaged school within our community. A caring environment must never be underestimated in its ability to nourish a healthy, happy path of learning for all students.
Looking into the coming months and years I will do my best to protect what WTS stands for! I will work hard -with your support- to improve and provide an exceptional educational experience for your children!
I wish you the all the best during this holiday season!
