Director of Admissions and Strategic Development

The Director of Admissions and Strategic Development supports the school’s mission by being the first contact for interested families, leading them through the admissions process, and leading strategic fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the Board of Directors, this role designs and executes a comprehensive strategy to attract, engage, and retain donors and community partners. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on relationship management to build meaningful partnerships and secure philanthropic support.

Director of Admissions and Strategic Development
Location: Woodstock, Ontario
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Reports To: Head of School

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage admissions inquiries and registration, ensuring a positive family experience.

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with current families, potential families, donors, alumni, corporations, and foundations.

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term fundraising strategies aligned with school goals.

  • Lead major gift and multi-year funding initiatives to support long-term sustainability.

  • Collaborate with the parent council and volunteers to enhance community engagement.

  • Prepare and finalize donor agreements, acknowledgments, and follow-up communications.

  • Prepare and finalize rental agreements.

  • Model and uphold the school’s values of respect, caring, integrity, and partnership.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Fundraising, Business, Communications, Education, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • A CFRE designation or membership in AFP/CAGP is considered an asset.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, or community development.

  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and managing donor portfolios.

  • Experience in event coordination.

  • Experience in the education or non-profit sector is an asset.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent project and time management skills.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other computer programs.

  • High integrity, confidentiality, and flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends.

About these roles:

  • Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the Head of School

  • Designing and implementing long range plans and unit plans that demonstrate creativity, cross curricular connections and a focus on enrichment of curricular topics

  • Demonstrating effective teaching practices that include differentiated instruction to remediate and enrich student learning

Position

We are currently seeking people interested in Elementary School Supply Teachers (Preschool to Grade 8) list to be able to be called upon on for illness, injury or absences of our regular teachers for occasional hours at our school.

***This is an occasional/on-call position. Candidates who are already living in or nearby the Woodstock area will be prioritized***

Experience:

  • 2 years teaching experience preferred

Qualifications:

  • OCT qualified teacher with elementary qualifications in your teachable.

  • In good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

  • Experience teaching elementary school preferred

  • A criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening is a condition of employment

  • Willingness to be part of a collaborative educational team

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written

The work day includes all academic and extra-curricular periods starting at approximately 8:30 a.m.
