Welcome to the Middle School

Grades 4 - 6

The middle school program at The Oxford School aims to foster independence and responsibility within students, as well as to provide students with the tools and support that they need to be successful. Students are challenged with more complex and detailed content based on the Ontario Curriculum and are guided through hands-on learning experiences. They are given different creative and technological outlets to explore and demonstrate knowledge and understanding. We recognize that students all have their own strengths; the various different needs and learning styles of students are embraced and celebrated. Students begin to experience a transition in their classroom environments where they are given the opportunity to explore, research, think critically and succeed on a more independent level. Ideas about self-regulation and self-management are introduced; our end goal is to create confident individuals who are prepared for the upper school grades ahead.
