Junior Kindergarten - grade 3

Our teaching approach in the kindergarten program encompasses a holistic view of growth and development. The Oxford School kindergarten program is divided into a junior and senior group. This allows for opportunities of building confidence and leadership within classrooms while meeting appropriate physical and developmental needs and provides a secure, respectful and nurturing environment. Our purpose is to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Within our classroom we have appropriate levels of structure balanced with exploration, play and inquiry. Our environment encourages individual student growth in literacy and mathematical behaviours and strives to help each child reach their own individual potential. Like our school community, our classroom culture is one where students and teachers treat one another with mutual respect and kindness.
