Director of Admissions: Kim Dorken
We are delighted to announce that Kim Dorken has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Admissions, in addition to her duties as Junior Kindergarten teacher. In this role Kim will assume responsibility for touring, interviewing, testing, and overall enrollment management, including outreach and marketing.
This is a terrific appointment for Kim, and a terrific one for the school.
It recognizes the Oxford School emerging into a position of strength: we almost doubled our enrollment this year, adding 60 new children. This meteoric track means we can expand our pool of mission appropriate students who can take advantage of all we offer.
Those of you whose children have been in Kim’s classroom recognize an exceptional woman whose rare gifts remain with a child far after they have left her care. Colleagues know Kim as endlessly cheerful, hardworking, and versatile. Parents know Kim as a peer, with daughters Georgia in Grade 6, and Contessa in Grade 3.
There are few initiatives in the history of the school that don’t have Kim’s stamp, from founding the Early Years program, to social media, to the admissions function per se that she will formally preside over.
Kim began her Oxford School career 18 years ago and embodies core values of kindness, knowing our students well, and clear communication with our families.
